Ditch the sugar addiction!
Why is it so hard to leave out refined sugar? The answer is simple, sugar is addictive! And that is the reason why it is in “everything” most certainly in processed foods. So by reducing processed foods and sugary drinks you can hugely lower your sugar intake. If you do use sugar, use less processed forms, but use them sparingly.
Key facts about why refined added sugar is bad
- can cause non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
- increases your risk of heart disease
- sugar plays a role in leaky gut, and therefore
- causes inflammatory processes in the body
Unfortunately, nutritional labeling is very unclear about what is added and what is natural sugar, to make sure you know exactly what you eat we recommend to read the ingredients list rather than the nutritional value information, or even better take the cooking and processing into your own hands.
