Here is who we are at The FoodRemedy

In short, The FoodRemedy is Ireland’s leading culinary medicine cooking school that “inspires wellness through real foods that nourish”.

We are all biochemically unique and we believe that there is no one right way to health, that’s why we designed our classes and courses to provide a deeper understanding of food choices and impart a confidence to cook delicious food in balance to maintain health physically, mentally and emotionally.

Fanny Binder

Fanny is a plant-based wholefood Chef and Nutritional Cooking Adviser. She brings to the kitchen over 20 years’ of cheffing (experience as a chef) in restaurants in both Germany and Ireland and has a genuine passion for combining the science of nutrition with the culinary arts.

She has been delivering cooking workshops on healthy cuisine and foods that heal for over 12 years in personalised one-to-one sessions, as well as large classes of up to 100 people.

She is a strong advocate for the use of fresh, local and seasonal produce: “I strongly believe we have to love and enjoy what we eat and only if we make our food, are we able to fully understand its importance and healing power.”

Tara Zuluaga Dorgan

Tara is a qualified Nutritional Therapist and the director of Root Health Nutrition, a Cork-based nutrition practice specialising in digestive health, autoimmune disorders and chronic disease. Tara holds a bachelor degree in Health, Community and Applied Ecology from Western Washington University. She also holds a diploma in Naturopathic Nutrition from the College of Naturopathic Medicine in Ireland, where she now lectures and supervises the clinical studies of nutrition students in their final year.

She is a wholefood enthusiast with years of experience as a chef in America and Ireland. She believes that food can be one’s medicine and trusts that using nutrition as a tool strengthens the client’s innate response to heal. Tara says: “… [insert quote]”

So, what do we do at the The FoodRemedy?

We want to be inclusive in our food choices, so we don’t follow one particular diet (everybody has their own food journey), however, all our classes are dairy, gluten and refined sugar free by default and we will always provide a plant-based alternative, if classes aren’t marked vegan.
